“…, minor key tonality and extensive vamping.”

By Kelmon , 31st August 10:02 pm

Pandora Flash InterfaceThe Web and Internet in general seems to be populated by all sorts of services, some more useful than others. While this might be somewhat banal, I’m actually a really big fan of Amazon not because they are generally a cheap place to buy books and DVDs, but because of the value-added features that helps me to discover new authors, artists, etc. that I’ll like. Using the “customer’s who bought this item also bought” and “average customer review” features (ignoring the rather pants idea of allowing idiot gamers to review games and consoles not even released yet) has enabled me over recent years to find some great products because I have been able to tap into like-minded people’s preferences. However, yesterday I was made aware of a new service that I really like much more.

Today I have my own personal DJ…

What’s Pink…

By Plagiarize , 20th August 1:18 am

…has two heads, and just demands to be touched?

Why my wife’s new toy! Just earlier this week, Katy’s ‘Candy Pink’ Nintendo DS arrived from Japan. I can hear readers right now going ‘boo hiss! you did that on purpose. two heads? that’s a bit of a stretch!‘ Well yes and no. The DS has two displays, obviously, and in the PC world we call that ‘dual head’.

Anyways, I’m digressing. While Katy had a GBA, she didn’t really play with it that much and it was as much mine as hers. I wanted to have 4 GBAs so that I could play four swords as it was meant to be played, and boy are both versions of that game a heap more fun with 4 people. So, it wasn’t exclusively hers, but then the GBA didn’t have a game like Nintendogs.

Nintendo’s secret weapon in this round of the hand held wars is a game about puppies. The reason that the DS is destroying the PSP in Japan, is puppies, and since Nintendogs came out, the DS hasn’t come close to slowing down.

OMG MOM! TATTIES!

By Plagiarize , 17th August 7:09 am

No this isn’t anything to do with Jack Thompson (for a change). See, just recently I’ve started receiving review copies of games, for the Horror Channel work I’m doing, and the first game that showed up was a copy of Bloodrayne 2.

Believe it or not, I passed up on both Bloodrayne games. Heck, I turned my nose up at the damn things. Turns out that Bloodrayne 2 is actually kind of fun, if a little shallow, but what I want to talk about is what gave me an unfair impression of the game: Titties. Knockers. Milk jugs. Ya-yas. Ho-hos. Mother hubbard’s hen sacks.

Vermy Reviews IE7

By Vermouth , 31st July 10:22 am

I recently had the chance to get some serious hands on time with the latest version of Internet Explorer, the long awaited big update which was supposed to steal Firefox’s thunder. Well this is clearly the best version of IE yet and way more functional than IE6 but it still has some serious work to do compared with Firefox. I’m not sure they’ll be able to catch up in terms of smoothing out the rough edges but if they do this will make things from a functionality standpoint a dead heat in my book. That said I’m not much of a securities expert but most of the people I’ve talked to who purported to know about security tell me that the Mozilla Foundation is light years ahead of Redmond in terms of fixing problems in a hurry and not having problems develop. So, does IE 7 deliver the goods? The answer is definitely maybe.

Name and Shame?

By Plagiarize , 27th July 2:55 am

With all the recent hullabaloo over sex and violence in gaming, it’s easy to forget that gaming is on it’s way to being the entertainment industry. It’s revenues outstip cinema, and whether or not Jack Thompson likes it, with each year the ‘gaming generation’ gets nearer to being the parents, and then the politicians. Anything that may happen this decade that unfairly treats gaming has fourty years maximum until we, the game generation, are the politicians, but that’s a topic for another day. My point is, gaming is here to stay, even though it’s still considered the black sheep of the family.

Which probably explains what I really want to talk about: The complete lack of promotion regarding Hollywood voice talent.
