Updated July 29: The comments have been redone so they are clearer and easier to read. Not entirely how I planned, but that’s because Internet Explorer couldn’t do some basic stuff.
The aqua mouseovers have been removed in favour of something as close to cyan as I care for. Also, now that Cereal Samurai has joined Holliday and I on the blog, he’s been added to the About and Contact pages. The categories have been redone so they’re a little more specific, and more will probably be added as more blogging is done. I was also extremely close to adding a “Get Firefox” message near the top of the site which would only display for Internet Explorer users, but I figure it would be a bad move at the moment, especially since Cereal himself is still an IE user.
A few more fixes here and there have meant that the site now validates properly as HTML 4.01. Trying out the validator with XHTML gave me a very long list of issues, so I really don’t care to try catering for that for a while. Maybe another time.

And we’re good to go! The site is complete enough. The forums have received their makeover, though I may have a bit more of a play around with the categories it contains later on. They’re also now at the latest phpBB release which is 2.0.10. I added a random image generator to the right right, which so far displays some Aelon-themed jargon, the Firefox logo, my Vanquish, one very smooth Logitech mouse, a Manta from UT2004, and Holliday’s favourite outdoor activity - snowboarding. Expect more as we think of them.
Seeing as the site is still hot out of the oven, I’m looking for feedback on it’s design. So far the only suggestion has been changing the rollovers/links from aqua to cyan, which I think is a fair idea. The site was made in Firefox, and also lightly tested in IE and Opera, but if you see any obvious glitches, let us know. Overall though, the site looks much better using a Gecko-based browser, thanks to some proprietary moz-specific code.

OK, and here we are! This is the first post of Aelon’s entirely new format, using a WordPress weblog. There’s still plenty to do - we need to figure out how we’re going to organise categories, and About page needs completing… infact, all the pages need completing aside from the archive, which was done all by itself courtesy of a nice plugin I found. Until everything is done, we’ll keep things here in the /test/ directory so when we go to air, there isn’t just one post here.
I’m thinking I will have a “recent posts” thing like on the current Aelon, seeing as we need to fill up more space. The forums will also need to have their looks revamped, so I guess we’ll launch the new design when the new forum graphics are implemented. I also have a few more tweaks planned in my to-do list. But it shouldn’t be long before we’re done.
