I have always preferred Logitech mice. One time I got a Razer, and I was incredibly excited--this was my days of hardcore Counter-strike and the like--but it ended up breaking a month later. I sent it in, and my next one broke 2 months later. My Logitechs, however, have at least a year or so before they show any wear.

I've been using a G5 mouse for about five months now and I freaking love it. I play more FPS than I do anything else, so the precision is so absolutely necessary.

You're going to love it.

I've used some Razers before and I never liked the feel of them. Not substantial enough for resting my palm on, and also far too light (I am just too used to having a heavy mouse). And yeah, the updated G5 was the only one I fancied - the older one only has one thumb button and I would have considered that a downgrade from the MX500.

One thing I am impressed with so far is the Setpoint software. When I had my MX500, the software for it was so crap I just used some Microsoft Intellipoint drivers instead, but it looks like Logitech's software department has really got it's ass in gear.

Ooh now you have the same mouse I have... or at least, the updated version :p

It's pretty good, but I wouldn't mind having a Razer DeathAdder instead ;)
Anyhow, game on!
