Well, much like the PS2, I will not be buying the 360 primarily for its backwards compatibility. It is a nice touch though since I was barely around for most of the good Xbox titles. So any dry spells in solid 360 titles I can catch up on some great games I missed.

On a similiar note, my 360 should be arriving next week around wednesday or thursday. I am mildly excited :)

From what I'm reading keeping my ear to the ground, a lot of games are having performance issues with the 360. It's game to game of course but Ninja gaiden for instance is significantly worse than it was on the Xbox.

I actually was kind of worried about the possibility you speak of Holliday that when I got my PC. Now that I was up to speed with a PC; my Xbox or PC would simply cannabalize each other. But a funny thing happened. I got my PC back and the floor fell out from under the Gamecube and PS2 i had at the time. Effectively it used to be I played the Xbox a whole lot, the PS2 a bit less than that and Gamecube once in a while to I played my Xbox a lot and my PC a lot and PS2 and gamecube once in a great while.

Yeah once these 360s get in better supply I will be getting one as well. I had an Xbox at one time and sold it because I rarely used it (my PC was always the better choice). However, about a year later Xbox finally hit its stride. So there are a lot of games I missed and most are backwards compatible.

Nevermind what I said about my doubts... I'm pretty much sold now that I've seen the <a href="http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/666/666344p1.html" rel="nofollow">list.</a>

I enjoyed my PS2 for a very good while, the same could be said for the GC (although it went on a very long dry spell until RE4). The day I gave into the Xbox, however, was the day the other two started gathering dust. I enjoyed it a lot. I wouldn't go as far as saying that I didn't want to get back on PC gaming, but I was convinced.

I have some doubts about the upcoming gen, but the 360 ranks very high as a potential buy.
