The Internet Fools Us Once More
I’m not surprised. I thought the initial whirlwind of news lacked that official ring to it - the sweet, sweet taste that distincts it from everyday rumors - but it was being confirmed “everywhere” so we all took a bite. But, they were wrong. Eric Bana is not, and will not be, playing James Bond in the next flick. Shocking, eh?
“Someone told me that yesterday,” he laughs. “That’s not something I’ve ever really contemplated — no, I wouldn’t be a Bond, no.”

Curse the news sites. Curse them all and their evil writing techniques. I should have known better.
On the other hand, the other day I got the low-down on the reason Pierce decided not to be Bond anymore, though I guess I don’t know if that’s official or not. Can’t really be arsed looking around on the internet. It is about Brosnan, Stoppard, and a swirling maelstrom of MGM stupidity.
