I, Robot

By Cyrris

IRobotI went and saw I, Robot last night. I don’t have all that much to say about it, but I still wanted to post something to see how images look like when done alongside a blog entry on this site. WordPress comes with a rather neat little uploader so Holliday and Cereal can give it a go as well, though I’d imagine having images alongside every entry would clutter up the page quite a bit.

Anyhow, I thought the movie was interesting. I was a bit put off when seeing some of the props - some of the first ‘futuristic’ cars you see in the background in the opening scenes are just Audi TTs with some extra plastic layers on them. Meanwhile the car Will Smith drives looks ugly as anything. Nevertheless, that was really all I didn’t like about the movie. The rest was pretty cool. I’m sure many of you have seen it by now as it’s not exactly a new release, but if you’ve missed it, I think it’s worth catching a session. You’ll probably have the cinema to yourself.

Good to see pics can be used, I was thinking of small, unobtrusive cover-art when I did my Hives / Sahara Hotnights reviews, but forgot to ask.

As for the movie, I saw it two weeks ago at the drive-in with the mrs. I thought it was ace, I didn’t expect greatness, and I think that helped me appreciate and enjoy it slightly more.

As for seeing it in an empty cinema, don’t get people’s hopes up. It’s still selling pretty well.

Ah, perhaps it was just luck of the draw on the session i went to then. They’re only have 4 a day at the local cinemas now (and we’re talking about some of the biggest ones in the country here, so I thought it would be quite representative). When I went in the ladies were giving out caps with a marijuana leaf on them, advertising for some movie called “The Crop”. Yet I didn’t see any preview for it when I went in. Quite odd.

I still think its funny that the ‘robot uplink’ made them turn red of all colors. Red means angry robot rarrrr. I liked it, worth the ticket but nothing I am planning on getting the DVD of.

    Will Smith’s waddle annoyed me.

T’was a good movie. Action was nice, plot was nice, even though not that complex. I just wonder though, why the hell didn’t the Doctor send Sonny to go and get the nanobytes to kill VIKI in the first place?

Obviously he would of had to explain to his company why he did it, but I wouldn’t have taken my own life just for the sake of making sure people knew you were right.
